KABA Newsletter

Welcome to the home page of the Kentucky Amateur Baseball Association (KABA).  KABA operates under the charter affiliation of Babe Ruth / Cal Ripken and participates in District #6.   District VI includes the counties of Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Pendleton and Owen.  The District Tournament is set for July 7th.

Campbell County will have a separate in-county registration to make it more convenient for its residents at St. Mary's Parish in the Old Hall behind the School from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Registration for the 2010 season is open.  Register online or attend the KABA Open house on Sunday, January 31 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Drawbridge Inn (Ft. Mitchell).  Coaches should contact their division coordinator to insure they know the time of their coaches meeting.

The Division Coordinators plan to be on-hand to answer parent questions and to conduct a coaches meeting to get the 2010 season off to a good start.  Plans include taking orders for uniforms, equipment needs, schedule considerations and a discussion of changes for the upcoming season.

Coaches Certification Program - Requirement for All Coaches

A new "Training" page has now been added. It includes the link for the "Mandatory Cal Ripken Coaches" clinic. It also has information on other sessions as well as local batting cage offers and local baseball training. (details)

The next coaches meeting - will be held on Sunday, January 31st at the Drawbridge Inn.  Machine Pitch coaches at 1:30 p.m. & Rookie Machine Pitch at 3:00 p.m.  Minor and Major Division Coaches at 5:00 p.m.

Equipment Returns - If you haven't returned your equipment from 2009, please do so immediately.  Grady Vallandingham is easy to work with and dedicated to serving the children in our league.

An email worth reading:  Among the hundreds of emails I receive each year, this one was one I felt should be passed along. I am not sure if it is based on actual facts, but I guarantee it will put the game of baseball in perspective for us all.
